Rightfully Raw sells fantastic guacamole (and other tasty snacks) at Detroit’s Eastern Market on Saturdays. Follow them on Facebook to see where else they’ll be.
Serving up kale chips and other raw snacks is the Detroit Zen Center, also at Eastern Market.
With the closing of the Raw Cafe last year, the Detroit area is left without a permanent raw, vegan restaurant.
However, there’s a few options to chow down on tasty raw foodies: vegan chef Corinne Rice heads Chartreuse in Detroit, which does a fantastic job of crafting delicious food that you’ll forget that the food is both vegan and gluten-free. The pop-up restaurant’s next dinner is February 2 at 7 pm, at the Detroit Flyhouse Circus School.
Also, if you’re in Midtown, you can also check out her food at the Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company. I attended Chartreuse’s brunch in November, and was very impressed. (All photos in the post are of Chartreuse’s food.) Note: Chartruese has since moved to L.A., and only does pop-ups once or twice a year.)
